Exactly what you would expect from a small town hospital. Staff is super nice and friendly.

ER can be very slow... Have had to wait for more than 3hrs on a few occasions despite no one else waiting.

I had my baby here after hearing rave reviews about their maternity ward and was so ok disappointed! The place is like an infection control nightmare! Peeling paint everywhere, such old plumbing and fixtures. There was a window shaker air conditioner in my room with one uncomfortable chair for my husband who spent hours with me after my c-section. The bathroom was so dingy and it was like something out of an old horror movie. When you turned on the light it flickered and hummed loudly. I spent my second night sitting in the one chair in pain, as no one had checked on me in hours (even though they warn you your second night will be the worst). I was in the chair because there was a giant black spider on the ceiling right above my bed. I had already killed a spider in the horror movie bathroom. There is not a single waiting room anywhere for visitors. My husband had to go to the other side of the hospital to use a washroom. Absolutely deplorable and I wouldn't go back or recommend it.

Thanks to all the wonderful staff who provide very good care despite facilities much in need of an upgrade. So nice to be able to access many health services without having to go to the city.

I have been to far too many hospitals than I care to remember. I use to think Lindsay was the worst and probably still is but the Hospital here in Grimsby has me classifying bit at a very close 2nd . Seriously, is it a contest of who can do nothing while appearing busy !!!! Simply unbelievable. I would hate to be in a true crisis and be admitted here! I would either be dead or want to kill myself because of the ineptitude! Good grief !!!!!

Worst bedside manner of the day shift nurses. My husband went in to emergency yesterday at 1130am-12 with a kidney stone and in a lot of pain. At 345pm they finally put him in triage room. At 530 I asked a nurse when someone was going to come see him and was told we're busy. 3 people that came in after him were seen and released. They never did come in and at shift change the new crew came to see him and apologized for him waiting so long. The night shift did bloodwork, got him pain killers and a Dr finally came to speak to him at 730. He was then told by the Dr that he would have to see a surgeon and the surgeon from another hospital will call him with an appointment time. Well it's now been almost 24 hrs since being seen and still no call. I called the hospital back asking why the surgeon hasn't called and all they could tell me was a fax was sent, all they know is a fax number, no Dr name or hospital name. The reception or whoever answered the phone said if he's in pain he needs to come back to emergency. I can tell you he would rather sit home in pain rather than go back to that hellhole. So now we are assuming my husband will be in excruciating pain until Monday when a surgeon is back after the weekend. This is our tax dollars at work. Note to nurses: have some compassion for the people who are paying your wages!!!!!! If we wanted to hear about your night or how much candy you took from your kids Halloween bag we'd ask.
